Did the Brazilian. Sugar was surprisingly not very hot and definitely less painful than normal wax. It was still somewhat painful, but I would rate the pain 6/10, while normal wax is 9/10. Loved how the therapist Carianne explained every step of the sugaring process so I could understand what was going on and follow along. She was also very professional and efficient - the entire process took around 30 mins. She did advise me to get a few products for after care and maintenance but there was no hard-selling. Studio was clean. Will be back even though it’s a bit pricey!
Always a lovely time at sugar(ed) Katong. Careyn has been my sugarist for the past 2 years. Its always such a good time with her. She’s professional, advices you on your concerns and makes it a fun experience when sharing conversations about our daily lives. I’ve seen how sugaring has benefited me as compared to waxing. It gives minimal discomfort and longer lasting results. No irritations, my skin feels soft, clean and smooth afterwards. Best of all, it uses natural ingredients which does not attribute to the ever growing wastage in the world. I do recommend switching to sugaring for the best results in the long run. The sugar(ed) team, regardless of which outlets are always friendly and approachable. Know that you’re in good hands when approaching this experience for the first time.
Careyn has taken over as my main sugarist for almost 2 years now. She’s very quick, yet thorough and engages me in conversation, distracting me from the sugaring of a sensitive area. I also appreciate that she’s not too pushy on selling the products and packages. I look forward to my monthly sessions with her and would recommend her to those new to and experienced with getting sugared!

My very first time sugaring and my sugarist Joann was awesome. She instantly put me at ease with her pleasant demeanour, kept me up to date on her progress and what she was applying next etc and she was very culturally sensitive to my self consciousness about my body and yet she gently boosted my confidence by making me get over my shyness about my body image. Her sugaring skills showed her expertise and I had a near pain free experience with my first sugaring experience. Highly recommend Sugar(ed) Katong and sugarist Joann.
